Strength TogetHER 4-Session 3

3rd October,2020

Strength togetHER is facilitated by Lokopakar which directly translates to "philanthropy". The word "philanthropy" means to do welfare of people. Lokopakar is a organisation which is created for youths to get inspired and inspire others through various sessions. It runs many personality development sessions and Strength togetHER is also one of them.

Strength togetHER is a beautiful platform where girls come together to share their stories, experiences and support each other.

Our moderator for the third session was Ms. Ranju Darshana, a socio-political activist. She is currently the Federal Committee Member of Bibeksheel Nepali Party. She is very down to earth and a humble person who loves what she's doing.

On October 3rd, 2020, 18 inspiring girls discussed on the topic " I fell but I rose again" where related stories were shared, heard, commented and added on:

  • Our first speaker took us through her breakup and talked about how she found self love. She always thought she was not good enough to be loved and if she would be happy for sometimes, she would doubt it and think bad times are awaiting for her. But, eventually she overcame it and have started to love herself.

 • Our second speaker talked about how grateful she was to get a life that she always wished for. And now as she was happy for everything with life blessed her.

• Our third speaker expressed her feelings about getting bullied because of her appearance and the thought resulted to anxiety and mood swings. But after she realized that she was important and started to care less about other people's judgements.

• Our fourth speaker always thought she was not enough and no one was there to hear her. Eventually she knew that she doesnt need to be recognized or praised to be good in something or to someone.

Our moderator gave us some advices about how to rise whenever we fall.

•Never change yourself to be acknowledged or to be loved by someone.

•People keep judging so instead of stressing over it ignore it and do what you want and love to do.(Logo ka kaam hai kehena)

•The family background you have right now is not your fault but if you don't do anything to improve it, it will be your fault.

• Being bodyshamed is hard. Even after hearing stories about people getting bodyshamed and getting traumatised because of it, if you still judge, it's a disgust.

All the participants were very inspiring while they talked about their stories where they fell but rose and they are what they are today because of their own terrible stories. They didn't hide it but shared it so others too could get inspired. We all were more than proud to be a part of such a wonderful family with all these encouraging women.

At the end, "We fall so we can rise to the greatness within us." With positive thoughts and motivated minds, we logged out of the sessions. We were really thankful to our moderator who made time for us despite of her packed schedule. It was a great session. Looking forward for more.
